Cold Fire: Fire Extinguisher As Seen On Pitchmen
79Cold Fire As Seen On Pitchmen
Cold Fire
Cold Fire is the As Seen On TV fire extinguisher featured on the season premiere of the Discovery Channel's Pitchmen. The world misses Billy Mays but the show must go on and Cold Fire provides an exciting and dangerous opening act for Anthony Sullivan who now goes it alone as the Pitchman. I had forgotten how great Pitchmen really was and how it got me hooked on TV products but the show hasn't lost a beat even though nobody could ever replace Billy.
As for the products, they just keep getting better and better. Cold Fire is a non-toxic, biodegradable liquid fire extinguisher in a small can. Cold Fire has been around for a few years and people who work with fires certainly know about it, but the general public hasn't quite caught on. However, after a few runs of the Pitchmen, this product will become a household name.
Cold Fire is absolutely perfect for As Seen On TV marketing and there is no way that its presence on the season premiere episode is random. This product and the way it is demonstrated is absolutely made for TV and the over the top carnival barking that goes along with television products. The demonstration in the episode shows cold fire preventing human flesh being protected from a blow torch. They have huge disclaimers saying not to try this at home but I imagine some knuckle heads out there will try it anyway.
Besides Cold Fire's amazing extinguishing and protective abilities the packaging makes it just about the smartest fire extinguisher I've ever seen. It is in a small can so gone are the days of bulky fire extinguishers taking up wall space or cabinet space in a small room. The cans are small enough to fit in a drawer or even put in a back pack for camping. It is suggested to have one in every room in the house and it's probably a good idea. I wouldn't throw away the larger fire extinguishers because they are probably a bit more powerful, but who really has those anyway. It's my hope, and obviously the hope of the manufacturer that people who do not have a fire extinguisher will pick up a few of these as part of a fire preparedness routine.
Speaking of fire preparedness, let's watch the Cold Fire As Seen On TV Commercial and talk more about the product after you get an idea how truly amazing it actually is.

Cold Fire TV Fire Extinguisher Reviews
Obviously Cold Fire Reviews are very positive because it is a great product. Cold Fire can save lives and even if there may be better fire extinguishers out there somewhere, people would be foolish not to have a few of these around. Have one in the car, under the sink, in the shed, with your camping gear, in the attic or anywhere else you can think of. There ain't nothing better when you have a little fire than a fire extinguisher and too many people don't have one.
Cold Fire is not expensive and even if you buy it through a TV offer it is still not a bad deal. The important thing is that if fire preparedness is this easy, then there are no excuses. If you don't have one near the Christmas Tree this year, then you're nuts. I don't want to be an alarmist because that is precisely my next point.
The thing I don't like about the Cold Fire and As Seen On TV partnership is how it is being sold. The amazing product display is one thing but the fear mongering is another. Rule 1 in copy writing is to appeal to the emotion of the reader. In this case, it's the viewer. The marketers play on the emotion of fear. Although it may be necessary to shock us into understanding that we may not be prepared for a fire, the ads make us thing that a fire is around every corner and we are going to be dead without Cold Fire. The fact is, that standard fire extinguishers are terrific and water has been known to put out a fire or two, and while Cold Fire is certainly wonderful, it is not the only way to fight a fire.
So watch the Cold Fire Commercial again and look for the parts designed to frighten you. I know they are not selling scrapbook accessories here, but it's a little over the top. I love how they have a woman who survived a house fire saying she'll never be without one then they show to little kids and a puppy to remind you that if you don't have Cold Fire, then your a bad parent. I think you get the idea about the commercial but I would be ignorant to expect anything else. After all, they start off by saying that in a fire every second counts, but that is exactly how it goes with a Pitchman. Every second you don't shock, scare and hard sell your audience, you are wasting time.
Watch Cold Fire Pitchmen Sneak Peak
I would like to point out that Cold Fire certainly does have the advantage over traditional fire extinguishers with regard to clean up. The old ones do leave a seriously messy residue filled with chemicals while Cold Fire is non toxic and actually leaves the the surfaces cool after a fire. This is a big deal with a small kitchen fire where often times the fire extinguisher contents can ruin an appliance.
All in all fire safety is a serious issue and too many people are unprepared and it is totally unnecessary. If you don't want want to buy Cold Fire, then find another way to make sure you are ready for a fire. Don't let the sirens, Anthony Sullivan setting himself on fire or the rest of the silly ad distract you from the point. It is easy to be prepared and if it takes some silly episode of Pitchmen to remind us of that, then this over the top As Seen On TV carnival act is well worth the half hour we devoted to watching the segment.

I am a firefighter and i just watched it, i am already researching the prices so my fire dept can buy it. Its an amazing product.
Man, you are quick on these hubs. I was just watching Pitchmen to see what life would be like without Billy Mays and was totally knocked out by how cool Cold Fire was. Nice Job
we have used the old cold fire 302 in our drag racing for i know at least 10 yrs on intake manifold fires ,transmission fires even the old 302 works great .
I know that our SWAT team uses it too and it is great for many aspects in Law Enforcement. I heard Patrol Cars are carrying the larger units. I think that's great.
Where can I buy this??? I want one in my car, one in my kitchen, one at work...
OR call 1-877-868-9022
We want to fill our booster tank with it, it will work better than water. I want to get one for all the women in my town because they are always burning their food
I've never seen an as seen tv product like cold fire. Most products get at least a few negative comments but I don't think cold fire will ever get one, well maybe from a Pyro or something. What a cool thing this is. I would love to get some cold fire because It just makes sense. I think the site is http://www.coldfireextinguisher.com/ but I can't tell. I like to order things from the company.
Well Just ordered from http://www.coldfireextinguisher.com/ so I hope it was. I'll let you guys know if anything goes wrong with the order. I always appreciate when other people do that so we don't make the same mistakes.
Really great write up on what appears to be a revolutionary product (spelling and grammar errors aside).
I watched the original Pitchmen episode and I thought the gag with Anthony Sullivan lighting himself on fire was just ridiculous, particularly since he was wearing about 50 different fireproof layers and chemical products, just to withstand about5 seconds worth of flames on his back as he walked forward away from the flame and laid down. I was much more impressed by the firemen putting the product through a battery of real-world tests during the episode, including the infamous grease fire which is so common and so incredibly dangerous. I daresay at least 50% of the population doesn't know that throwing water on a grease fire will have virtually the same effect as throwing gasoline on it, yet Cold Fire knocked out a raging grease fire in about 1 second flat. I was also impressed that one small can of the stuff was enough to put out a fully engulfed XMAS tree fire, a raging bed fire, and a flaming recliner chair.
Best of all was the ease of use... anybody that has ever used an aerosol can of any sort would know how to use this without any instruction or hesitation. No pins to pull out, no need to read any instructions, no worrying about whether your extinguisher is fully charged, and no huge mess after the fire is extinguished. This stuff should be sold in the impulse buying section near the checkout counter of every major department store and auto parts store, among other places. IMO everybody should have at least one in their house, if not a few.
Love the product, hate the commercial. I don't have as much a problem as playing on the fears as I do the lying. The chemical composition of this extinguisher was supposed to have been developed very recently, but it has been trusted for years? The other main problem is that the commercial itself is ineffective. I would have liked a demonstration of a line of fires from different fuels such as cooking oil, gasoline, fabric, foam stuffing, etc. They could have gone down the line quickly putting out each of the fires showing how effective it was.
Years ago maybe back in 1994-1995 I had the privilege of using Cold Fire at a drill my fire department had. I was pretty impressed.
Then I had the experience of my life. The two fire companies went back to the drill host's department. The demonstrator sprayed his arm with cold fire and then held his arm to a blow torch. When he was finished, I went to examine his arm - I was also an EMT at the time. Not one burned or singed hair could I find. No burns, no redness - the arm wasn't even hot. I was amazed.
Then he asked me if I wanted to try it. I did. I will never get over the fact that I had someone take a blow torch to my arm (the flame was very close to my arm but did not touch me) and not once did I feel any discomfort!
Amazing stuff this is. Too bad it has taken so long to really get out on the market.
Great Stuff BUT..............
When I went to order the 2 cans (1free), they also promoted a twelve pack which I purchased. The shipping and handling seemed high but about standard for this type of promotion. To date I have only received the 2 cans and I was charged the entire shipping and handling amount. When I call to check on the arrival of the other 12 cans
(3 calls so far), I am told it is still on back order and they do not have any
date or estimate for when it will be shipped. While their customer service department is courteous, it is not helpful. I will update with status of the
balance of the order but don't anticipate they will be in any hurry to fulfill since they already have been paid for the other charges.
Great review about cold fire!
Same experience as Anita - ordered the "deal" PLUS the 12-pack. Got the two cans promptly, the 12-pack never came and I was eventually (after prompting) refunded the 12-pack charge. Would like to be able to buy Coldfire "off the shelf" to save the $$$$-overcharge on the "S&H" (where the money is made. Too important a product to limit access to it this way.
Cold Fire Comments
Thank you for all the readers who are leaving comments about the very cool product (no pun intended) in the last week week google rated the traffic as volcanic (cant be sure if Google knows what a pun is so I tell you if one was intended or not) but there is no denying this product is smoking hot (The smoking part was a pun, but I felt putting in the hot part was just to punny so hot will not be included in the pun) As a result I'm getting comments from SWAT Team members, fire fighters, and even a few disappointed arsonists so this product was be great. I have not gotten to sample it yet, but like most people who get it, I will most likely try to test it on my arm. I also talked to the people at http://www.coldfireextinguisher.com/ and they are set up to sell through the TV off from Pitchmen. It is not in retail stores for the consumer market. But contact http://www.coldfireextinguisher.com/ if you have any commercial needs and they will try their best to help you.

I just saw Pitchmen and I knew Cold Fire was gonna be a hit but I didn't think it would play so well on television. It definitely has the wow factor these guys love and it makes being an as seen on tv junkie a lot of fun. Cold Fire is definitely gonna be a smash!
