Ideal Umbrella Stand Beach Umbrella Stand

The ideal umbrella stand is an as seen on TV product that I've been wanting for a long time.  I was hoping someone would invent a foolproof beach umbrella stand and I think the idea umbrella stand is the one. I cannot be the only one who has battled their umbrella over the years and frankly I had all but given up.

There is nothing better at the beach than a little shade and if you have ever been shielded from the brutal sun by a great umbrella, then you know what I'm talking about.  As good as this can be, there is nothing worse then cooking in hot sun with nothing to protect you.  Having a nice shaded area changes the whole beach going experience and for a guy like me it makes it a lot more tolerable.

My family loves the beach and mostly just sit around like a beached whale.  This works pretty well for us but I cannot hang out the entire day without becoming very uncomfortable.  The days with little breeze are the best because I can set up an umbrella and everything is fine.  But, most days there is that great onshore breeze, but it wreaks havoc on even the sturdiest umbrella.  No matter how far you dig it in, there never seems to be enough leverage to keep it standing.

So when I saw the Ideal Umbrella Stand infomercial, I was totally stoked.  Not just for the beach but for my daughters soccer games in the hot Florida sun and our yard.  This thing looked way too good to be true and after you watch the commercial below, you may think so too.

So the commercial is pretty straight forward except for the fancy words the marketing people use to describe the simple parts of the ideal umbrella stand.  I suppose the product is so simple they had to try and jazz it up a bit to make it seem like you really need this thing.  The truth is that if you use an umbrella often, you need some type of beach umbrella stand or you are eventually going to run into some trouble.

The concept is very simple and straight forward and I like how easy the stand was to use.  All you need to do is insert the end of your umbrella pole into the ideal umbrella stand and turn the tightening screw.  They call the screw the wind restraint knob, but it really just a screw which secures the pole into place. You then find a piece of earth to stick in and then press down with your foot and you have a nice secure umbrella that won't fly away or knock down.

Now I knew in advance that I wanted the upgraded version because I plan to take an umbrella with me while I go gold panning with the family and the area is tough.  There are a lot of rocks and gravel with very little soft sand.  The way the upgraded version hammers into the earth is ideal for what I expect to find but it is not necessary for home use.

When you buy the ideal umbrella stand be very careful because just like so many As Seen On TV products the order form is tricky.  They love to throw in bonuses and upgrades and if you are not careful, you'll end up getting more than you bargained for.

Make sure your quantity says "1" and understand that the product is $19.99 plus $9.99 S&H.  Then your "free" umbrella which fits the stand requires and Additional $9.99 shipping charge.  So the entire order for 1 Ideal Umbrella package should be right at $30.00.  This is not a bad price and I use the included umbrella because I don't have anything better.  For me, not battling my umbrella at the beach is any price and my upgrade makes it very easy to pound into the ground. I fully expect this to work well in the tough terrain I'll run into in the mountains but it isn't really necessary at the beach.
