Riddex Pest Control

Products from Riddex Pest Control have been around for some time. Most are sold through television offers and are filled with hype and slick marketing tactics.  None more noticeable than the disgusting roaches and pests they show which totally disgust the viewer.  But, they know how to get our attention and the Riddex Pulse is the latest in their lists of gadgets that I've tried out.

Riddex Pest Control products have sold millions of units over the years, but I've never really read about a lot of positive results. In fact, I'm not really sure what the difference between the old riddex plus and the new riddex pulse actually is.  My bet is there isn't one except for a fresh new marketing campaign.  I could be wrong but even the ads are remarkably similar.

The basic premise of these riddex pest control devices are a dream come true. Just plug them in to the electrical outlet in your home and become pest free.  You can rid yourself of roaches, mice and rats and never have to set a trap or use chemicals.  You will save money on pest control services and will never have to worry about poisons being used around your family or food. It sounds great but how does it work?

How the riddex pest control devices work has been a point of contention for some time. Nobody seems to know for sure if this is some type of ultrasonic wave, a high pitch frequency or some type of electrical charge.  It may be explained somewhere but the commercials are pretty oblique and I can't find a definitive answer when searching for it.  You would think that if there was a simple answer out there, the company would make sure it was easily found by anyone looking for such information.

Before we get too sidetracked let's take a look at the disgusting commercial and see if we can figure out what is really going on here.

Riddex Pulse Commercial

The riddex pulse commercial makes the product look great and the folks at riddex pest control must be geniuses. But it doesn't add up for me. First, these little devices seem to make noise when you plug them into the wall. If they are releasing a pulse into the electrical system, it sure doesn't sound like it. It seems like the sound is traveling outward from the unit and not inward into the electrical system.

The commercial also says that each device will cover an entire floor of a home implying that a two story home would require a second unit.  That's okay with me but I'm wondering if the way a home was wired would effect the range of coverage.  The only way this would make sense is if an entire floor was wired on one circuit.  I know most modern homes are not wired so simply. I'm crazy for wondering how the current could flow through and protect every room?

Riddex Pest Control is just too unclear about how this thing really works. Having said that, mine seems to work!  I have no idea how or why but I do not see the roaches I was seeing in the past. It could be a coincidence or the riddex pulse may be working. I really have no way of knowing.

I plugged my unit into an outlet in my kitchen and I seem to be pest free.  If it continues to work then the upside for me is huge.  We are talking about the kitchen here and spraying isn't the best idea. Using roach traps with that yellow creamy poison is a bit gross and can't be healthy so something that annoys the roaches away is ideal. I just hope it's really working.

I do not have mice or rats so I cannot speak to the effectiveness of riddex pulse for those type of pests and I'm not even sure I can state that it works for roaches but mine have disappeared for now so I'm definitely glad I tried it.

The fact is that Riddex Pest Control devices have been sold for years and millions of people have bought them.  If it were a total scam you would think that someone would have stopped them.  But, they are still in business and launching new versions of their products so let's hope they really are what they are intended to be.  And if so, then we are looking at a revolutionary way to deal with pests which is safe, clean and cost efficient.  The jury is still out on this one so be careful when ordering.  Read reviews online and check forum posts and maybe the questions you have about the product will be answered there.  If anyone can prove that these Riddex Pest Control products work, please leave a comment below. I'm sure we'll all be interested.

Mice have been used in all kinds of lab test, so how about a lab test using mice to test the effectiveness of the Riddex pest control device?

Say, a 9ft diameter enclosure with at least five escape doors that lead to a five foot diameter enclosures each connected to the big enclosure by a tunnel like connection.

There will be a Riddex device in the middle of the large enclosure and also a riddex device in each of the smaller enclosures except one. Place 5 mice on the large enclosure then activate the Riddex devices. The mice should scamper and try to get away from the Riddex device in the big enclosures and the small enclosures that have Riddes devices and go to the one without.
